Prime Minister Barrow heads Belize delegation to historic Summits of the Americas
Prime Minister Dean Barrow lead a delegation from Belize to the seventh Summit of the Americas, held in Panama City, Panama on April 10 – 11, 2015. Prime Minister Barrow was accompanied by his wife Kim Simplis-Barrow; Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Wilfred Elrington; Belize’s Ambassador to Guatemala, H.E. Alexis Rosado; and Belize’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), Ambassador Nestor Mendez.
This historic summit marks the first time Cuba is represented, following a successful vote at the last Summit of the Americas held in Colombia in 2012, as well as the recent normalization of relations between the USA and Cuba, which is to be represented in Panama by President Raúl Castro Ruz.
