Belize Independence Day

Belize was established on September 21, 1981 after gaining full independence from the United Kingdom. Prior to independence, Belize remained a British colony since 1862. September 21st is now globally recognized as Belize Independence Day, with Belizeans joining together on this day every year for momentous celebration.
